Location and topography of Sentosa
The word Sentosa means ‘peace and tranquility’ in Malay dialect. The island covers an area of 5 sq km. It lies half a kilometer away from the southern coast of Singapore.
Around 70% of the total area of the island is covered with rainforest which plays a crucial role in preserving the biodiversity of the area. A 3.2 kilometer long white sandy beach that surrounds the island is one of the greatest tourist attractions of the place.
