History: The "Singapore Dancing Sweethearts", Shawn & Gladys are professionally trained Ballroom dancers. After the completion of their training in England, they started their teaching career with the set up of the studio the Shawn & Gladys Dance World in 1986. Since then the studio is considered as the best platform for all the talented and trained Ballroom dancers.

Courses: Shawn & Gladys DanceWorld of Singapore offers a varied range of courses, which are basically age specific. It is better to categorize the courses on this basis-
Children/ beginners- Rock 'n' Roll, Cha-Cha-Cha, Salsa
Latin beginners - Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba
Technique Ballroom- Waltz / Quickstep / Tango / Foxtrot or Viennese Waltz
Social steps- Rock & Roll, Cha-Cha-Cha, Salsa
Apart from all these, intermediate and advanced courses are offered to trained dancers.
Achievements- The list of achievements is pretty long and so, just check out some of the most significant ones:
From 1982- 1983: The couple won 20 world champions title in Ballroom dance. They have the experience of competing in Austria, France, Germany, England, USA, Hawaii, Australia, Holland, Yugoslavia, Belgium and definitely Asia.
Titles: Shawn & Gladys Dance World of Singapore won titles in 1985 Doris Lavelle Challenge Trophy (England), the 1990 Asian-Pacific Ballroom Dancing Championships (Korea) and so on.
Upcoming Events: Shawn & Gladys Dance World of Singapore is preparing the steps for the upcoming events like 2007 IDSF World Youth Ten-Dance Championships and 20th Singapore Lion City International Dance Sport Championships in the coming August.
Shawn & Gladys have been exploring all the technical and aesthetic possibilities of Ballroom dance and its success lies in the achievements of their students in regional competitions. Shawn is currently the Advisory Director to the Asian Dance Sport Federation, and Presidium Member of the International Dance Sport Federation. Organizing events for all nations have earned them international recognition and the studio occupies quite a prominent place in the sphere of Singapore art.
