The celebration started several years ago and originated from Samhain, a Celtic festival. Samhain is a harvest festival which symbolizes the beginning of the New Year, leaving behind the old year. Halloween Horror Nights
Halloween Horror Nights is a Halloween horror event which is held at the Universal Orlando Resort. The event comprises eight new horrific haunted houses, six new extreme scaring zones and a new “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure” show which mainly comprises parody from music, TV and movies.
Halloween Horror Nights took off in the year 1991 with a single haunted house under the name “Fright Nights” at Universal Studios Florida and was later renamed as Halloween Horror Nights in the year 1992.

Halloween Horror Nights Dates
Halloween Horror Nights is an event which is specially ticketed and takes place in the month of September and October. The dates of the event are:
- September 25-26
- October 1-4, 8-11, 15-18, 21-25, 28-31
In addition, there will be several rides and other attractions that will remain open during select hours.

Halloween Horror Nights will be held as per the following timing on the following dates.
Event Hours: 6:30pm to 2am on October 2, 3, 9 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31
All other days: 6:30pm to 12am
