Politics in Holland Village

The small commercial suburb of Singapore with a feel of a village in it, Holland Village is a favorite tourist hotspot where people form all over the world congregates to indulge in great fun and merrymaking during the weekend. Holland Village lies within the Buona Vista division of Singapore. It was under Single Member Constituency (SMC) prior 1988.

The Group Representation Constituency representing multiple seats and plural voting system operated from 1988. Holland Village was under Holland-Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency since 1997. Lim Swee Say represented as a Member of Parliament during that time. Holland Village came under the Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency from 1997 to 2001. The constituency was led by Minister Lee Kuan Yew. Formed in 1991, Tanjong Pagar constituency achieved success in every nomination till 2001.

Holland Village came under the domain of Holland-Bukit Panjang Group Representation Constituency afterwards.
