The taglines are however, derived from the previous years national day rallies. The tagline selected for NDP 2005 was "The Future is Ours to Make". Due to the launch of the Singapore 21 project "Together We Make The Difference" was introduced as the tagline for the national parade held in the year 1999. "Together, A New Singapore" took the place of "Together We Make The Difference" in 2002. This must be noted in this case that themes and taglines both are two different things.
