Venues of National Parade Day in Singapore

National Parade Day in Singapore is held at the historical grounds of the padang. It is the same historical ground where the independence of Singapore was declared to the people of the nation. Venues of National Parade Day in Singapore really bear a significant place in the history of Singapore. Our site focussingapore offers detailed information about the venues of National Parade Day in Singapore. It was until 1975 the parade was held at the central area to bring it closer to the people but in the year 1976 it was held for the first time in the newly completed National Stadium.

The much bigger space of the stadium allowed more visitors to be a part of the parade. The national stadium offers 60,000 seats but still the demands for tickets remains high every year. In order to bring the celebration more closer to the Singaporeans the government decided to celebrate the event twice at the stadium before bringing it back to the padang after every three years. Since the year 1995 it was decided that the parade would be held in padang every five years.

The padang however, offers few seats compared to the National Stadium.
