Singapore believes that international cooperation is essential in identifying the underlying causes of climate change, management of hazardous chemicals and wastes, ozone depletion, marine pollution and transboundary air pollution and developing workable solutions to deal with these problems. Hence, the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR) seeks to be a proactive and constructive partner in this important process of environmental cooperation at the global, regional and bilateral levels.
