In order to maintain a peaceful standard of living every nation aims at maintaining healthy relations with the foreign nations. In this world of globalization no nation can reach the height of prosperity without the help and confidence of the other popular nations. Singapore is no exception to the said norms and thus believes in strengthening her foreign relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singapore is mainly concerned with the duty of conducting and managing the relations of Singapore with the foreign countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore was established in the year 1965. Over these years the ministry has expanded itself to forty overseas missions. It comprises of seven High Commissions, seventeen embassies, fourteen consulates and two permanent representatives to the United Nations.

Twenty-one non-resident Ambassadors and High Commissioners from different parts of the world are based in Singapore.

The Ministry also assists Singaporeans traveling abroad, working and studying in the overseas nations. Singapore believes in maintaining diplomatic relations with the foreign nations. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is a part of the Cabinet of Singapore. George Yeo is the present Minister of Foreign Affairs in Singapore.
