Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Medical Centre started in 1976. In December 1979, the hospital and medical centre were officially opened. Mount Elizabeth Hospital is recognized throughout the region for its specialty services and excellent physicians. It offers cardiology, neurosciences, and many other tertiary services. It was the first to have a private cancer centre in the region and was the first private hospital in Singapore to offer cardiac catheterisation, cardiac and neurosurgery and other advanced medical procedures.
In 1994, Mount Elizabeth Hospital was awarded the Asian Management Award for People Development and Management and in 1998 the Singapore Quality Class Award.
The hospital offers services such as a call bell service, client services, food and beverage services, TV and radio programmes.
