Alexandra Hospital was originally built to serve the British military just before World War II. During the 1970s, it was one of the largest hospitals in Singapore. But later on, its superiority began to diminish when other hospitals were built with better facilities and clinical services.
However in 2000, it was taken over by a new management, which transformed the hospital and dramatically improved its facilities and services. Alexandra hospital is a receptive care general hospital with widespread services for its patients.
