National Anthems uphold the sprit of a nation. The National Anthem of Singapore got written after it became independent from the British Rule. The credit for the composing the heart rendering National Anthem of Singapore goes to the Enick Zubir. It was introduced to the common mass on the 3rd December in the year 1959. |

It was penned during 1956- 1957 at the wake of the nationalism of Singapore. It was however performed for the first time to observe the occasion of the curtain raising of the Victorian Theatre. It got adopted as the National Anthem of the Republic in the year 1956, when Singapore gained its independence.

The citizens of Singapore were made acquainted with the new-recorded version of the National Anthem in the year 2001 on the 19th of January. The Ministry of Information and Arts achieved this goal of a new version of the National Anthem after working on it more than one year and the reason that lies behind this is that the people who are associated with Information and Arts wanted to make it more appealing to the people of Singapore.
It was recorded at the Victoria Concert Hall on the 20th of November. The various versions in which this National Anthem has been recorded are the solo/choir, orchestral and the piano.
