As far as the Media Organizations in Singapore are concerned, the prime media organization of Singapore is the Media Corporation of Singapore (MCH). It was the government of Singapore that controlled the broadcasting media that includes the television and radio. However, the government 's control over the media got spurned off as a corporation and the result of this was, that Singapore International Media came to be known as MCS (Media Corporation Singapore) in the year 1999.

The Media Corporation of Singapore also made its effort to establish its hold over the newspaper and provided a tough competition to another organization, known as the SPH, as it was the SPH (Singapore Press Holdings) that was the sole governing body as far as the newspapers of Singapore are concerned.

The Media Corporation of Singapore, at present concentrates in broadcasting direct to air television stations that are four in number and these channels airs/broadcasts programmes in four official languages. It also runs the Channel News Asia, a news channel that caters to the regional viewers, an outdoor television channel specially meant for the passengers who avail the subway trains to get to their destination and also runs a teletext service.

However the MCH's hold over the television industry is being threatened by the SPH, which put its first step in the television industry with a Chinese news channel and an English news channel.
Apart from television, it also runs eleven stations that airs programmes in all the official languages. It is also in the process of getting into digital audio broadcasting. It is required to mention that the SPH runs two radio channels.
