Lutheranism originated from the works of the German priest Martin Luther, who inspired the Reformation. The Bedok area in Singapore had a population of Lutheran families, who wanted a Lutheran congregation. In 1981, the Bedok Lutheran Church was built. Worship services are held in English and Mandarin.
