Built in 1888, the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes primarily caters to the Tamil Catholic community of Singapore. The design of the Church is inspired from the original Gothic architecture of the Church in Lourdes, France. There is uncertainty as to who was originally responsible for the Church design, but many historians attribute the design to Swan & Maclaren, though at the time, Churches were mostly designed by priests. In 2005, the Church was gazetted as a national monument.
