Built in 1955, the mosque was named after a great leader Encik Ahmad Ibrahim, who served as Singapore's Health and Labour Minister (1955-1961). He helped improve and upgrade the mosque's facilities. A madrasah was also set up at that time to impart religious education to Muslim children living in the vicinity and it continues this work till today. The mosque conducts religious lectures and events daily.
