Singapore Labour Foundation was set up in 1977 to bring about improvement in the welfare of the union members in Singapore and also to expand the trade union movement in the country. At present, it is situated at NTUC Centre No. 1 Marina Boulevard #11-01 One Marina Boulevard Singapore 018989. At present, it comprises of 79 members including 10 co-operatives and 69 unions and associations. These are also affiliated with Singapore National Trade Union Congress (NTUC).

The role of the Singapore Labor Federation is to look after the welfare of the union members and provide aid and support to them whenever required. It tries to provide relief to family members of those who have died or suffer from chronic illness and accidents. It also supports various charitable projects and endeavors within the member labor unions. On the Education front, the SLF tries to sponsor union leaders for further Education at Ong Teng Cheong Education Trust Fund, by awarding SLF Bursary Awards for ITE Students and running the SkillSave Account and Individual Saving Account.
The SLF has set up special recreational centers at Downtown East and at, Sentosa called Costa Sand Resort, along with Ananda Country Club, Orchid Country Club and Orchid Bowl. These are set up to provide recreational and lifestyle activities to the union members.
