The National Council of Social Service in Singapore started in the year 1958 as the Singapore Council of Social Service. In Singapore the entire social service sector is managed and led by the National Council of Social Service. The National Council of Social Service aims at improving the life of the financially deprived community of Singapore and with this aim in view it has formed partnerships with the other Voluntary Welfare Organizations in Singapore.
National Council of Social Service Volunteer Circle
The 'National Council of Social Service Volunteer Circle' is the volunteering branch of the National Council of Social Service. It offers training to the volunteers of the other voluntary organizations in Singapore.

Social Service Training Institute
The National Council of Social Service has a Social Service Training Institute which was started in the June of 2003. It offers training to the volunteers and social service professionals associated with different social service organizations for enhancing the improvement and growth in this sector.
