The Sports Museum was established in 1983 to preserve and showcase Singapore's sporting heritage. The museum has six galleries, which displays both Olympic and non-Olympic sports, along with traditional and indigenous games and pastimes:

Local sports treasures include Tan Howe Liang's Olympic medal, the only one won by a Singaporean; the All-England Badminton Cup, retired by the legendary Wong Peng Soon for his consecutive victories in 1950, 51 and 52; Adelene Wee's 1985 World Games gold medal; Ang Peng Siong's world swimmer's award, and many others.
