Raffles Hotel opened in 1887 in a sprawling colonial bungalow, which until then was known as Beach House. The Hotel was named after Sir Stamford Raffles, founder of modern Singapore. In 1987, it was declared a National Monument.
Over the years, it has evolved into one of the world's most beloved Grand Hotels and has welcomed countless celebrities, writers, and royalty.
