Start your day with a visit to the Arts House at the Old Parliament House. Converted to an arts venue, this iconic building is the oldest surviving government office where Singapore's political leaders once discussed and debated important issues related to the country's development. Your next stop is the Asian Civilizations Museum, where you learn about the heritage of Asian cultures. See the highly acclaimed exhibition, the Peranakan Legacy, which showcases the rich material heritage of the Peranakans from the Straits Settlements and the Indonesian Archipelago. Visit the ACM Empress Place, where you will find galleries showcasing over 1300 artifacts from all over Asia.

Take a break and visit Little India, you will find shops selling all things Indian, ranging from sweets and snacks, saris, medicine, arts and crafts. You can hop into a restaurant and try some spicy Indian food. Within the quaint quarters of Little India you will find the multi-cultural arts companies- English language theatre groups Wild Rice; ethnic arts groups Bhaskar's Art Academy; and a hip contemporary art gallery called Plastique Kinetic Worms.
Wander into Chinatown. Turn to Smith Street and Trengganu Street where you will find art groups that specialize in Cantonese Opera, Beijing Opera, Teochew Opera, music, theatre, calligraphy as well as literature. The Chinese Theatre Circle and Toy Factory Theatre Ensemble are also housed in this area. Finally take a stroll to Chinatown Food Street where you can savor the best of delectable local cuisine and try local favorites.
