The Heritage (or Colonial) district refers to the area between Orchard Road and the Financial District where many of Singapore's civic foundations were laid down. Impressive colonial buildings and churches have been well preserved and restored to their former glory, giving the area a unique ambiance. Singapore's business and entertainment districts are also located here. Access to Orchard Road is via the MRT (Dhoby Ghaut) with the Central business district close by.
