New Year in Singapore

Celebrating New Year in Singapore can be fun. You have loads of options to choose from when it comes to partying! The Jewel Box on Mount Faber, Mardi Gras at Clark Quay and Havana Ball at the IndoChine Waterfront, are some of the many options available…During the Chinese New Year this year, around 500 stalls are set up around Chinatown, serving Mandarin culinary treats, selling brightly colored flowers and Chinese New year ornaments.

Special events were organized such as a countdown party, Chun Jie festivities and the Chingay Parade of DreamS among others. This year during the Chun Jie celebrations, visitors took part in the special Prosperity Lucky Dip, where prizes included free tickets to the Singapore Zoo, Duck and Hippo Tours and other attractions.

The festive street bazaar enthralls visitors to Chinatown with a dazzling array of festive goodies like waxed duck, barbecued sweet meats, cookies and New Year accessories. Chinatown is where the Chinese in Singapore congregate year after year to shop and soak in the festive atmosphere. Next time you are in Singapore, during the New Year, join Singaporeans and marvel at the spectacular fireworks and colorful lighted up streets.
