Singapore Film Commission

The Singapore Film Commission (SFC) was created in April 1998 to maintain and expand the budding Singapore film industry. The SFC has been a component of the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore since 1 January 2003. The SFC is lead by 14 members chosen from both private and public sectors. The main intention behind the establishment of Singapore Film Commission is to look into different facets of the film industry and supply the appropriate support and services. The three significant areas of work for the Singapore Film Commission are:

   Funding
   Facilitation & Promotion
   Education & Training

Thus the Singapore Film Commission is a non-profit organization formed to endorse film industry in Singapore. The main objectives of this organization is listed below :

To give financial support for productions, training and film-related travel
To support, improve and expand Singapore talents among the film makers in Singapore and provide opportunities to any newcomer in this industry through proper guidance.
To elevate the values of filmmaking in the industry.
To generate better understanding and approval of film making.
Promoting the industry locally as well as improve it to match international standards.

Singapore Film Commission has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 1998. It has undergone a sea change from its modest beginnings. Today it is fully functioning institution which is creating a lasting impact on the Singapore film making industry.
