In Malay the word 'sentosa' means peace and tranquility. Sentosa Island is one of the prime tourist attractions in Singapore. This island resort is simply ecstatic. If you are in Singapore then rush to Sentosa Island which is like a slice of paradise just for you. As you just step in this paradise of Singapore you will be completely mesmerized by the beauty of the delightful greenery which is peppered with the awesome attractions that would surely blow you away. It has nature parks, tropical resorts and heritage center.

Some of the major attractions of Sentosa Island are Songs of the Sea, Fort Siloso, Merlion, Tiger Sky Tower, Underwater World and a host of other attractions. Sentosa Island also offers many festivals like Sentosa Balloon Hats Festival, Barclays Singapore open, Beach Parties, Sentosa Flowers etc.
Underwater World Singapore is one of the best attractions of the Sentosa Island. This oceanarium showcases about more than 2500 marine life from 250 different species. It is very popular with the visitors as it offers leisure, fun and also educational experiences. This is a 'voyage to the bottom of the sea'. An 83 meter long travelator allows the visitors to move along a submerged tunnel which has glass windows and then they can have a look at the wide array of marine life which includes coral reef, sharks, turtles, moray eels, stringrays and other fishes like the jelly fishes. During the underwater tunnel experience remember to exchange playful glances with the Gracie, a playful dugong. You must also check out the latest themed exhibit in the Underwater World.

In Underwater World, three are frequent school visits as it supports educational programs like Ocean Ambassador, Ocean Sleep-over, Hands-on Educational Workshops and many others. Underwater World offers complete learning fun.

If you are finding for some exclusive venues for special events then you can check out 'Dinner with the Sharks' program of the Underwater World which offers unique wine and dine ideas. Dining on a moving travelator is simply out of the world. You will also be served with sumptuous delicacies here.

Some of the ideal adventures at the Underwater World is 'Dive with the Sharks' and 'Dive with the Dugong'. In the 'Dive with the Sharks' program you can come very close with the colorful marine life and vigilant sharks. It is a complete fun discovery in the Underwater World. You can scuba dive in the oceanarium even if you are not a qualified scuba diver. But you cannot experience 'Dive with the Dugong' if you do not know scuba diving.

Dolphin Lagoon is one of the most interesting part of the Underwater World. It offers a priceless meeting with humpback dolphins which are Indo-Pacific. The environment at the Dolphin Lagoon is similar to the natural habitat of a dolphin. The pink dolphins in the Dolphin Lagoon always make new friends. The 'Meet-the-Dolphins' session is just spectacular. In these sessions, the visitors enter a waist-deep pool for the best interaction with the dolphins. But you can interact extensively with the pink dolphins at the 'Swim-with-the-Dolphins' Program. The Fish Reflexology is also one of the exciting programs.
