Deepavali celebration is backed by the strong Hindu believes. The mythology says that a demon called Narakasura, the king of Pradvoshapuram, was a cruel king who tortured the people and kidnapped the poor and the helpless and imprisoned them. Observing the oppression and anxiety of the people, Lord Krishna killed the demon and saved the happiness of the people on the earth. The day, since then is celebrated as Deepavali, the festival to celebrate the victory of the good over the evil. Deepavali is a festival full or colorful lights and fires. This is the occasion, people clean their homes and offices and decorate them with new color and different collectibles. They burn oil and worship the God. A lot of crackers are being burnt. Children, the young people and olds as well enjoy the occasion and celebrate it with true devotion and spirit. In Singapore, the event symbolizes a national occasion and is celebrated by people from all religious and ethic groups.
