It's really a pleasure to get around in Singapore for its efficient and really clean public transportation. You can get to every place by bus, taxis, and cars on hire, cruises, trishaws, MRT-Mass Rapid Transit system. The rates are really cheap and affordable for almost everybody.

Public bus fares are cheaper and much wider in range than that of the MRT. The range of most bus fares varies depending on the distance traveled. Cost of transportation in Singapore by bus will range from 60 cents up to 1.20.

If you opt for a non-air conditioned bus the range is 50c- S$1.10 and if your choice is an air-conditioned one it will cost you 60c- S$1.40. The most smooth and clean system-MRT offers quite affordable rates. Everyday you can avail MRT from morning till midnight. The fares of MRT range from 60 cents- S$1.50. The cost varies for every journey and destination. But you can always buy a stored value card for traveling to many places by public bus and MRT. The range is from S$10 up to S$50.

There are a lot of taxis in Singapore. But at rush hours it'll be convenient for you to hire a taxi which will cost you S$2 more. The cost of transportation in Singapore for 1.5km by taxi is S$2.40, then it'll cost you 10 cents for every extra 240m.You have to pay extra charges whenever required. A surcharge of S$3 is the cost of traveling by a taxi starting from airport. No surcharge is there if you travel by a taxi from the main city to airport. You have to pay around S$13 while traveling from Changi towards the centre of the city.
There are a lot of organized tours and cruises to make your trip more enjoyable in and around the city. Out of the many cruises, the Singapore River is one of the finest. It'll cost you just S$7 per cruise. Simple cruises cost about S$20 which is organized by various companies, while it'll cost you S$35- S$80 if you want yourself to be treated especially at your dinner table. The cost of transportation in Singapore by a trishaw which is a three-wheeled bicycle connected to a carriage, for 45 minutes, costs S$25-45.
